Melanie L. Aya-ay, M.D.

Dr. Aya-ay was born in Charleston, West Virginia and grew up in the small town of Chelyan. She graduated as valedictorian of her high school class and received magna cum laude honors with her bachelor’s degree in Biology at West Virginia University. She obtained her doctorate degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2003 and ventured to Tampa, Florida for her training in General Surgery, Burn Surgery, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of South Florida. Dr. Aya-ay began her Plastic Surgery private practice in 2010 and is now located in North Tampa, Florida. Dr. Melanie Aya-ay has received her board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The scope of her practice includes a full complement of Cosmetic Surgery of the face and body with her Reconstructive focus on breast. Dr. Aya-ay specializes in the management of difficult breast cases such as tuberous breast and asymmetry or postsurgical deformities such as symmastia/implant malposition and asymmetry and is an explantation expert. She holds memberships in the Tampa Bay Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
The most recent exciting venture has been the addition of Vivia MedSpa where Dr. Aya-ay serves as the Medical Director. Our medspa focuses on providing scientifically based and customized care to help men and women of all ages to feel and look their best! Dr. Aya-ay offers a wide array of noninvasive, minimally invasive and surgical options to keep her patients looking more youthful while yet natural.
Dr. Aya-ay met and married her husband, James, during medical school and they welcomed three children born during her surgical training. Together with her husband they continue to work hard together to grow her practice to provide the best care in Tampa Bay. She loves traveling and spending time with James, their 3 teenagers, Xavier, Olivia & Xander, and their fur babies, Finley and Sasha.

Emily DeNisco, APRN

Emily joined Dr. Aya-ay as her nurse practitioner in 2018. She specializes in neurotoxin injections, fillers, Morpheus 8, CO2 laser skin resurfacing, hair removal, and IPL. She also assists Dr. Aya-ay in the operating room and cares for surgical patients in their pre-operative and post-operative phases. Emily is a native of Tampa, and attended Tampa Catholic High School. Emily received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Florida State University, with a minor in Family and Child Sciences. She then studied at the University of Miami and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Emily worked locally as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Tampa Outpatient Surgical Facility while earning her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Tampa. Emily is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In her free time, Emily enjoys being with her husband and their cat, Pepper. She also loves to travel, exercise and spend time with her family and friends.
Morgan Gavalas, APRN

Morgan was born and raised in Tampa, FL. She is a board-certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of South Florida. Morgan joined our team in May 2022 after 5 years as an Interventional Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to pursue her passion in plastic surgery and aesthetics. She now specializes in neurotoxin injections, fillers, Morpheus 8, CO2 laser, IPL and laser hair removal. Morgan also helps care for our surgical patients throughout their pre-operative and post-operative phases in our office. Morgan recently got married in Key West. In her free time she enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Chloe and Ward, and attending group fitness classes.
Emmy Rogers, Medical Esthetician

Emmy is a Licensed Esthetician practicing for the last 4 years. She grew up in upstate New York where she attended the State University of New York at Potsdam and received her Bachelors of Science in Public Health. She then attended the Aesthetic Science Institute studying esthetics before obtaining her Esthetics License in the state of New York. Since then she has taken additional courses and become certified in Microneedling, Microcurrent, and Spray Tanning. She has also received training with ZO Skin Health, Skinceuticals, and Hydrafacial. Emmy moved to St Pete 2 years ago where she obtained her Esthetics License in the State of Florida. In her off time Emmy loves to spend time with her friends and her Goldendoodle, Lucy. She also loves traveling and seeing her family!
